Eric and Kristie kicked off my 2017 wedding season, and I could not have been happier to welcome a new year with these two love birds!

A pharmacist and an optometrist, you’d think these two were meant to be by their careers alone! But Eric and Kristie met looooong before they were settled into their careers. It all began when the pair was attending college at UW-Madison. Eric and Kristie actually lived in the same dorm their freshman year, but never hung out, according to Kristie. It wasn’t until they were at the same bar one night that they finally met. Kristie recognized Eric, and started a conversation. Much to her dismay, Eric had no idea who she was. BUT Kristie decided that he seemed like a nice guy, so she gave him a break 🙂 After a few months of hanging out and plenty of nights studying, Eric’s persistence finally paid off and the two began dating. As they say, the rest is history.

I think the best part of this love story so far though (well, besides their AWESOME wedding), has to be their proposal story. Take notes men… this is the stuff us ladies dream about. Here’s how Kristie described the evening she became a fiance.

“It was a very personal and private affair. I was working on a Saturday morning, and Eric was at home, secretly preparing for the engagement. We had plans to work out together that afternoon, so when I was done with work and Eric wasn’t quite prepared he said, ‘Why don’t you go to the gym without me’. I didn’t know it at the time, but he was buying time. So, when I arrived home and walked up the stairs littered with rose petals, candles lined along the steps and a sign saying, ‘Welcome to Eric’s Restaurant’ (with the menu was listed), I was so surprised! He had prepared lobster and bacon-wrapped filet mignon with old fashioneds, beans, and potatoes. There were flowers everywhere with candles and mood lighting. After we ate, we went to the living room for awhile, then he suggested bringing out a pint of Culver’s custard he bought for desert. I was eating when I turned around to see him on his knee asking me to marry him. I was so excited/shocked/happy that I said “NO WAY!”… that threw him of guard! But as I started to cry and jump around, I corrected myself! Then we of course spent the evening celebrating and calling all our friends and family. It was the best night!”

Eric and Kristie spent months planning their perfect version of an elegant early spring wedding. Their taste for a clean and timeless feel really came through in everything they had planned! I absolutely loved the pink and gold bridesmaids dressed, the guys’ classy black tuxes and they gorgeous reception hall details. I think my most favorite part though, was the fact that Kristie wore her late mother’s vintage veil. If you know me, you know I have a thing for veils. This one was one of my favorites because it meant to much to Kristie.

Check it all out below, guys. I’m so excited to share this one!
