Joshua and Alyssa are the perfect example of a discerning couple. When it came to their wedding day, they displayed carefully chosen details that not only showed their personalities, but that let their guests know how special they are to them. The entire day was centered around family, as both Joshua and Alyssa have strong relationships with their parents and siblings. It was so easy to see that these two grew up with amazing examples of true love, which is something that is SO valuable these days.
I had two favorite parts of this day. Selfishly, their amazing venue, steeped in Wisconsin tradition (they got married in the birthplace of iconic Pabst beer!), and their fabulous decor made my photographer’s heart happy. Thanks to awesome planners, the day looked beautiful. But secondly, I loved this couple’s idea for their guest favors. Instead of a sweets or small gifts (don’t get us wrong, we love those!), Alyssa and Joshua instead chose to place a simple paper heart at each guest’s seat. Those paper hearts gave each guest the power to pick, out of a handful of charities, where they wanted their portion of their “favor” to go. When the night was over, instead of spending hundreds on favors that may be easily tossed out, Alyssa and Joshua (with the help of their guests) donated that money to the charities that they support. It was completely unique, and something that I thought was just so perfectly fitting for these two.
Cheers to the great Milwaukee vendor team that made this day so pretty 🙂
